“Writer, musician and activist reeta loi is a triple threat”
writing
Reeta writes short stories, essays, songs and poetry and is currently writing their debut book. They trained in Storytelling at RADA before writing a one-person show which toured for six months before headlining at The Barbican in 2023.
Reeta was a columnist at leading lesbian, bi, women and non-binary title DIVA for three years. They also wrote features before becoming Contributing Editor at GAY TIMES from 2018 to 2021. Their poetry has been published in the She Voices Anthology.
In 2017 Reeta was selected by Penguin Random House as one of 50 writers in London to take part in their ‘Write Now’ initiative, based on an early excerpt of their book.
Reeta’s writing is well known for mainstreaming narratives and histories that have been silenced and censored as well as creating work for emerging audiences. Reeta is known to be a passionate and powerful voice as a multi-disciplinary artist that takes storytelling to a new level, fusing poetry, music, comedy and song.
Reeta’s debut novel is in the works and they publish essays on their Substack newsletter entitled ‘SOUND’, which you can read here.
